Physics 2.0 for Transfer (AS-T)

Physics 2.0 for Transfer (AS-T) explores the laws that govern matter, motion, and energy. Students gain a solid foundation in calculus-based physics, mathematics, and programming, preparing them to transfer to a CSU or UC to pursue a bachelor’s degree in physics, engineering, or related fields.

The following is required for an Associate Degree for Transfer:

  1. Minimum of 60 semester or 90 quarter CSU-transferable units.
  2. Minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 in all CSU-transferable coursework.
  3. Minimum of 18 semester or 27 quarter units in the major.
  4. A grade of “C” or better in all courses required for the major.
  5. Certified completion of the California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC) pattern; see Degree Requirements and Transfer Information section for more information.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
  1. Draw scientific conclusions about simple and complex systems by collecting, assessing, and analyzing information.
  2. Communicate technical ideas in group and professional settings in both written and oral form.

This new Physics 2.0 ADT aligns with statewide updates requiring Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and an Introductory Programming course, ensuring full articulation to CSU and UC physics majors.
