Data Science Certificate of Achievement

A certificate of achievement leading to an entry level position which specializes in the fundamentals of Data Science. Students completing this sequence will have enough basic Data Science skills to enable them to assist managers in small, medium, and large-sized organizations.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
  1. Analyze and evaluate real-world business or scientific scenarios to identify data-driven problems, relevant variables, and appropriate analytical approaches.
  2. Design feasible, efficient, and ethically responsible data-science solutions using appropriate statistical, computational, and analytical methods.
  3. Develop and implement the proposed solution by collecting, cleaning, processing, and modeling data using industry-standard tools and techniques.
  4. Interpret, communicate, and present results by explaining analytical methods, model performance, and data-driven insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Note: All courses must be completed with a letter grade of “C” or higher or “Pass.”

Any student who chooses to complete only the requirements listed above qualifies for a Certificate of Achievement in Data Science. An official request must be filed with the Admissions and Records Office prior to the deadline as stated in the Academic Calendar.
